THE SOUND OF BOOTYS SHAKING!!! Brooklyns own Groove Bros are swooping in to topple all notions that the lines of hip-hop music cant be blurred. It takes an act with talent and charisma to really cause a stir. With a sound that mirrors Outkasts ingenuity and brings back the Beastie Boys party-inducing flavor, The Groove Bros rock the mic like a bunch of New Yorkers who have obviously studied their dirty south peers. With a surprise attack on peoples pre conceived notions, The Groove Bros musical shenanigans prove that different styles of hip hop can creatively co-exist AND rock the house! The Groove Bros consist of lyricist and drummer Humble (Michael Halpern), his brother, lyricist and bassist Honkadelic (Steven Halpern), lyricist, beat box, and deejay Skotch Rockie (Thera L. Choice) and Deejay Zone (Nikolai Pohorelsky). The boys all met in 1996, when they were hired to help with the grand opening of the Greenwich Avenue Starbucks in the West Village. After discovering mutual loves for music, girls, and trouble, they all put their creative minds together and The Groove Bros emerged onto the New York hip-hop scene with a bang. One of the most powerful aspects of The Groove Bros is their live performance. They attack audiences like four class clowns who never get caught by the teacher. Wit aside, Humble, Skotch Rockie, Honkadelic, and Deejay Zone have accumulated years of experience playing their instruments, rhyming, producing, and just generally entertaining every person around. Whether they hit you with their fresh bangin beats, catchy hooks, clever rhymes or just general antics; it would be a safe bet that every audience would be mesmerized by some aspect of these four guys! The groups exceptional musicianship has been on display recently. As of late The Groove Bros have been honing their production chops. Working on an unbelievable hybrid collaboration With Jahdan The Lyrical Gun Gourdon lead vocalist for the phenomenal Noble Society. Gaining buzz by the busload for their uncommon soundscapes with Jahdan, their phone has been ringing off the hook. In the past year The Groove Bros have been working on songs for Bisc 1, Creature, and The Couture Ink with much more in store. Their production debut on Northern States debut album Dying In Stereo received huge critical acclaim, including 4 stars in Rolling Stone Magazine, and huge positive feedback from the whole musical community.
